How an Asphalt Plant Works
The production process of asphalt mixing plant can be divided into the following steps:
1. Aggregate conveying: Aggregate in the cold bin is fed into the drying drum through belt conveyor.
2. Drying and Heating: Aggregate is heated and excess moisture is removed in the drying drum by contacting with high temperature flue gas.
3. Screening & Storage: The dried hot aggregate is graded by vibrating screen and then fed into the hot material storage bin.
Metering and mixing: according to the set proportions, aggregate, powder (e.g. mineral powder) and bitumen are metered separately and fed into the mixing cylinder.
4. Mixing: In the mixing tank, aggregate, powder and asphalt are forced to mix to form a homogeneous mixture.
Dust removal and emission: The dust generated during the production process is purified through the dust removal system and discharged after meeting the standard.
5. Finished product output: the mixed asphalt mixture is sent to the finished product silo for subsequent construction use
How To Choose The Right Asphalt Mixing Plant
Choosing the right asphalt mixing plant is an important decision in road construction, which requires comprehensive consideration of several key factors. The following will provide you with detailed answers on how to choose an asphalt mixing plant from multiple dimensions:
1. Define the needs and objectives
Before shopping for an asphalt mixing plant, you should first clarify the specific needs of the project, including:
Production demand: choose the right equipment model according to the annual or daily production. For example, a small project may require a 50-100 tons/hour mixing plant, while a large project may require a 200 tons/hour or higher equipment.
Construction location: Understand the environment of the construction location, such as whether it is close to residential areas or areas with high environmental requirements, which will affect the choice of equipment type.
2. Equipment type selection
Asphalt mixing plant is mainly divided into two types: batch type and drum type, each with its own advantages and disadvantages:
Intermittent asphalt mixing plant:
Advantages: able to accurately control the quality of the mixture, suitable for projects that require high quality asphalt mixture.
Disadvantages: lower production efficiency, suitable for small and medium-sized projects.
Roller type asphalt mixing plant:
Advantages: continuous production, high efficiency, suitable for large-scale construction projects.
Disadvantages: relatively poor quality control of the mixture.
Select the appropriate type of equipment according to the project requirements to ensure that it can meet the quality requirements and improve the construction efficiency.
3. Technical performance and configuration
When choosing an asphalt mixing plant, you need to pay attention to the following technical performance and configuration:
Production capacity: choose the appropriate capacity according to the project scale, such as 80 tons / hour, 120 tons / hour, etc..
Environmental performance: Consider the emission standards and environmental requirements of the equipment, for example, whether it meets the latest green production technology regulations.
Test Instrument Configuration: Ensure that the equipment is equipped with necessary test instruments, such as electric thermostatic water bath, vacuum drying oven, etc., to meet the quality testing requirements.
4. Operation and Maintenance Costs
The operation and maintenance cost of the equipment directly affects the long-term use cost:
Ease of use: choose equipment that is easy to operate, which can reduce the cost of operator training.
Maintenance costs: pay attention to the ease of maintenance of the equipment and the supply of spare parts to ensure that the later maintenance is convenient.
5. After-sales service and support
Quality after-sales service is an important guarantee for the long-term stable operation of the equipment:
Service network: choose manufacturers with perfect after-sales service network to ensure that equipment problems can be quickly responded to.
Technical support: understand the technical support capabilities of manufacturers, including equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, etc..
6. Recommendations for equipment selection
According to the above factors, the following are some common recommendations for equipment selection:
Small projects: choose intermittent mixing plant, such as DHB continuous mixing series, suitable for small projects that require high quality asphalt mixture.
Large projects: choose batch mixing asphalt plant, such as LB series, suitable for large-scale continuous production.
Multiple projects: choose portable and easy to dismantle asphalt plant, such as YLB series mobile asphalt plant, which is suitable for various scenarios, such as road maintenance and small projects.
7. Summary
When choosing an asphalt mixing plant, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the project demand, equipment type, technical performance, operation and maintenance costs and after-sales service. Through rational planning, it can not only meet the construction demand, but also ensure long-term economy and environmental protection.
