What are the basic parts of a concrete mixer pump?
Mixing Drum: Rotates to blend cement, aggregates, water, and additives. It often includes internal blades for consistent mixing.
Engine: Powers both the mixing mechanism and the hydraulic pump system, typically diesel or electric.
Control System: Includes a control panel or remote for operators to manage mixing speed, pumping pressure, and direction.
Siemens PLC Control: The programmable controller is to control steering of the hydraulic system, operation is smartand automatic.
Hopper: Acts as a funnel to receive mixed concrete from the drum and feed it into the pump.
Double Tires: Long service life, uninterrupted work, toensure the normal, operation of the machine
What are the applications of pumping concrete?
Concrete mixer pumps are widely used in various construction scenarios, including:
Small to Medium-Sized Buildings: Commonly used for 2-18 story buildings.
Tunnels and Mines: Suitable for underground projects due to its ability to pump concrete over long distances.
Roads and Bridges: Effective for infrastructure projects that require precise concrete placement.
Rural and Remote Areas: Ideal for areas where traditional concrete mixing and pumping setups are impractical.

How does a mixing pump work?
I. Preparation
Check the equipment
Make sure that all parts of the mixing pump (such as mixing tank, conveying pipeline, hydraulic system, etc.) are in normal condition.
Check whether the oil level of the hydraulic tank is sufficient and whether the conveying hose is firmly connected.
Electrical system: verify that the control panel, cable and switch are not broken or leaking, and that the emergency stop button functions normally.
Trial run: start the equipment with no load, observe whether the operation is smooth and there is no abnormal noise or oil leakage.
Site selection
Choose a flat, solid ground to park the equipment, avoid tilting the equipment or sinking the legs due to soft ground.
Make sure the equipment is far away from high voltage lines and other obstacles to prevent safety accidents.
Pipeline laying: plan the route of conveying pipeline, reduce the use of 90° elbow, fixed bracket interval ≤ 3 meters, and additional reinforcement is required for the overhead section.
Safety distance: no obstacles within 3 meters around the equipment, set up warning fences and operation reminder signs.
Equipment cleaning
Before pumping concrete, pump it once with clean water to wet and clean the conveying pipe to avoid concrete clogging.
II, the operation steps
Starting the equipment
Before starting the equipment, make sure all operating handles are in neutral position.
Check whether there is any residual concrete in the mixing tank, if so, clean it up.
Make sure the voltage is stable (380V±5%) before turning on the main power.
Start the hydraulic system to warm up (extend to 15 minutes in winter)
Test the forward and reverse pump function with no load, the pressure gauge reading should be within the calibration range
After starting the equipment, wait for it to reach a stable state before starting to pump concrete.
Pumping concrete
Feeding order: first inject 1/3 water → stone → sand → cement → admixture → remaining water, be careful not to overdo it.
Mixing time: ≥90 seconds for concrete below C30, extended by 30% for high grade or special concrete
Slump control: pumping concrete should keep 160-220mm, retest every 2 hours in hot weather
Pumping operation
Initial pumping first push mortar lubrication pipe (0.5m³/100m)
Keep the concrete in the hopper submerged in the mixing shaft to avoid air intake.
Adopt “slow→fast→slow” variable speed pumping strategy, the maximum pumping pressure does not exceed 80% of the rated value.
Check the angle and position of the conveying hose at any time to avoid twisting or bending of the hose.
Equipment shutdown
Before stopping the machine, set the pumping speed to the lowest until the concrete is delivered.
Press the stop button to turn off the power of the equipment.
Clean residual concrete from mixing tank and delivery hose to avoid dry caking.
